Upcoming Key Tax date's: Provisional Tax Payments Due: - June balance dates - 2nd Instalment 2025 Prov Tax due 28th March - March balance dates - 3rd Instalment 2025 Prov Tax due 7th May Terminal Tax – Due 7th April 2025 Please try and avoid using the tax type GAP when paying both GST and provisional tax as IRD sometimes puts a hold on these payments. We will always send tax notices to you a couple of weeks before any payment is due as a reminder. We are sending these notices by email so please ensure you check your JUNK/SPAM mail folder in case they have gone there. If you are paying IRD via Westpac you can make a cash or EFTPOS payment at any Westpac branch or Westpac Smart ATM. You will need your Tax Return or statement barcode, or you can create your own online at IRD on the link below: https://www.ird.govt.nz/managing-my-tax/make-a-payment/ways-of-paying/paying-at-westpac Please note you will need to scroll to the bottom of the page then select “create a barcode”.

From the 1 st April 2025 minimum wage will go up from $23.15 to $23.50 per hour.  These rates are before tax. The Starting-out and training minimum wage will go up from $18.52 to $18.80 per hour.

We are proud to announce one of our mid Canterbury cropping clients, Syd Worsfold, was inducted into the newly formed NZ Arable Hall of Fame at the Arable Awards held in Christchurch last night. Syd was recognised for his 40 years of service and support to the arable industry, holding the record as the longest serving United Wheatgrowers director, and was an inaugural member of the FAR Board. Syd was hailed as a willing support and mentor for any grower who needed help or advice and we want to congratulate Syd for this fantastic accolade which he thoroughly deserves. Award Winners 2024

If you employ people in your business, make sure you are aware of changes to income tax thresholds from 31 July, 2024. Also changes to Personal Tax and Working for Families threshold and payments will increase from 31 July 2024. Personal income tax threshold changes (ird.govt.nz) The government has also announced the introduction of the FamilyBoots Payments The proposed FamilyBoost will be a new childcare payment made to families with young children to help with the rising costs of early childhood education (ECE). The FamilyBoost payment will be equal to 25% of ECE fees already paid by households. This would be a maximum weekly refund of up to $75. FamilyBoost will be available for ECE fees paid from 1 July 2024, with the first FamilyBoost refunds being made in October.  Govt announces FamilyBoost (ird.govt.nz)
